CHANGING TEAM CAPTAINS

Return to OCVL Home Page

To understand the OCVL captaincy changing process, it is important that you understand the following first: as far as the league is concerned, it is the team captain alone who retains the rights to the team name and the team bond (the team bond is the money set aside at the beginning of the season to cover any fines incurred by the team or it’s members).  Second, bond amounts are transferable from one season to the next.
Hence, for teams who do wish to change captains, here is what needs to be done:
The
current team captain has to send an e-mail to john@ocvl.com which says the following:

  1. that he/she no longer wishes to be the captain of the team,

  2. to whom he/she is transferring the captaincy over to,

  3. and that he/she is also transferring the bond or whatever is left of the bond, to this same person.

Also,

·   The current email should be carbon copied (i.e. “cc”) to the new captain who should then “reply to all”, accepting the position of captaincy.

·   For security reasons, as well as to ensure prompt action on the league's behalf, the current captain, whether they choose to play in the league this year or not, must log into their OCVL account and ensure that the email address from which they are sending their request is the same email address that is on their OCVL account.

·   Finally, please ensure that the new captain is on the team's roster.  He/she must login to the OCVL website and "Join a team" (specifically, the team they are to captain).

Once all of this is received the proper changes shall be made.
